Nicholas rocks the boat (and car!)

I couldn't help but laugh at this sight. Nicholas had dragged the hose to the side yard and then dragged his boat to the side yard. I thought nothing of it, for a moment. I walked around and saw Nico spraying the well cover and filling his boat with water. He then jumped in and began to rock, singing a song of his own! He wasn't aware of me so I ran into the house to hurry to get the shot. Here is the Kodak moment. :-)
Saturday, July 5th, I invited Nicholas to fill his wading pool in the front yard so I could keep an "eye" on him while I work in the garage. Turned into a bad invitation! He began to wash our Ford 500, which wouldn't have been a big deal had Jed not rolled the windows down! He sprayed the car and then put the hose through the window and filled the dash, seats and floor with about three inches of water! Aahh! We got a wet/dry vac and then let it air dry til Sunday morning. The car ran to church the next day but wouldn't start after church. I said to the family, "Let's throw a mighty prayer!" We did and the car didn't start. Today, however, I said to Jed, "It's too bad if we don't have enough faith to work in our behalf. I believe in miracles and I know that faith precedes the miracle." Jed and I prayed. He then went to the car. He came back and simply said, "Come with me." We went to the car, Jed says to me with a slight smile, "Faith precedes the miracle." The car started right up. I was thrilled and so thankful! We then offered a prayer of gratitude to our loving Father in Heaven for the blessing of our curious boy Nicholas as well as an expense spared.

Emily and Friends Celebrate Summer

This was such fun! Emily had about ten friends come over for a day in the sun. They played water kickball with wading pools as bases and a slippery slide to go home. It was hysterical to watch. Ethan, Sarah, Macy and Nico joined in the games and had a blast! (Check out Nico tugging on the girl below him! Ha!) They played tennis, jumped on the tramp and ate fresh fruits, chocolate brownies and had refreshing drinks!
Come again!!

Ethan Works in the Pit!

Ethan was invited with his dad to go to the Miller Raceways in Toole. Jed's cousin, Rod, has a race car and needed help in the pit. Ethan and Jed bolted the wheels on the race car, watched the race from the pit, and ate snacks to their hearts content. By 4 pm, Ethan was beat! He certainly had a long day and enjoyed his time with his dad. Looking good Ethan!

Girls Camp with my sweet Emily

I love being with my Emily! And going to Girls Camp was no exception. We had a blast! Crazy late hours, hiking for 7 miles up hill instead of the 5 it was supposed to be, Skittle games (I vow to NEVER eat another Skittle), one shower in 5 days, inspiring speakers, touching testimonies, Challenge course (that is a challenge), rowing canoes on the gorgeous Legacy Lake (shown behind us), and smokin' smores to add more sugar to our already over-loaded sugar bodies! Oh the list goes on!
The pic. of me, Hannah, Emily and Storie (Hannah's mom, Ona
was taking the pic,) shows how fabulous the camp is! Heber Valley Camp is splendid! Our little group hiked to the Big Moose Lookout while the other 48 girls stayed below. They missed out - simply breath-taking!
Thanks Emily for a wonderful time! I love you!

Sweet Land of Liberty!

Oh say can you see?! Check out my hubby, soaring through the air like a flying trapeze! Sweet! I rode with Macy and Nicholas on the 4-wheeler as the others rode ahead. It was great family fun, needless to say!
While riding there was a fire going on about a mile from where we were riding - yikes! The firefighters had it under control but you know how it is, where there is fire, there is also wind! About an hour into riding, a huge wind storm came through. Sand was blowing everywhere and the wind was strong enough the younger kids got scared. We loaded up and headed out, with a nice layer of dirt all over us and matted hair from the helmets. Remember those days?!

The Priviledges of Freedom

We are so blessed to live in this beautiful country! Our family spent time riding our dirt bikes near West Mountain on the Fourth of July. Memories of a privileged childhood came flooding back as I watched my children ride through steep trails, making jumps and maneuvering through tough terrain studded with rock. Here are two dare devils - Sarah Jane (l) and Emily (r) - catching AIR! So fun to watch them ride and get more brave with each attempt. Let freedom ring!

Who said mom and dad get there own room?!

I don't think so! Just look at this bed of tangled limbs! Whenever the kids say they want their own room, Jed and I can always say, "We don't even have our own room!" Here's the proof!
But between you and me, these days will soon be gone and quite frankly, we can sacrifice just a tad bit longer. Yah, Jed or I will have to move to the couch from time to time but its worth waking up to these precious faces, happy to have spent the night with mom and dad.

(Me, Nico, Macy and Sarah-6:30 in the morning and still sleeping soundly on a weekday morning)
