A New Favorite Saying

"Childhood is a journey, not a race. "

Official "Fancy Nancy Day" - July 11th!

Alrighty, all you aspiring Fancy Nancys' of the world, the official day has been declared!! JULY 11th of each and every year from henceforth and forever is now Fancy Nancy Day! The girls who set this in motion are Sarah Jane, Emily Marie, Macy Sandra, Mary Mackenzie and Breea Amanda with Jed as their chauffeur/date.
The girls got all
glammed up and took a ride in a "white limo" to town for a fabulous meal then to the ultra glam movie hot spot "Blockbuster" for a choice in an array of top films! Oh what a night for these glam ones! Don't forget to join us next year for Fancy Nancy Day!!
ps- for those of you caught unawares, "Fancy Nancy" is a favorite childrens book that we read to Macy. All of you with sweet little girls, this is a must! :-)

Boys Date with Mom

Well Ethan was determined to hike "P Mountain" for our Date. He put a bottle of water in his shorts, with my phone in the other and off we went to show Nicholas the "P". The boys hiked so well. Nico asked twice it I would carry him but I couldn't because of an annoying neck and shoulder injury and he continued on without complaint. (As a matter of fact, I fell hard trying to keep him from falling and he rushed to my side, stroking my cheek, "Oh mom, are you okay?" Sweet boy!)
We made it to the top! We talked briefly about the beauty around us. Then we took a picture and sent it to dad and the girls. Ethan picked up beautiful rocks as we started our descent, giving a few to Nico, who would throw them out saying, "they are too heabee". As we went down, we watched as the sun set behind West Mountain - quite a magnificent sight. Summer skies in Utah are fantastic!
Thanks boys for a fabulous date! Love you so!

Bike Ride to town for Snow Cones!

I was so glad when the kids suggested this little activity. I got a backpack , filled it with a water bottle, my camera and some cash and walked out to all the kids with sunglasses on ready to ride! It was about a 4 mile ride down and back. Little Nicholas rode on the pegs most of the way and on the last home stretch he begged to get on my bike. All the kids were such great sports - Ethan and Sarah took turns giving Nico a ride. And Macy rode so well! The snow cones were quite the refreshing treat for a 93 degree day!

Payson Pool Opens with a Splash!!

We finally made it to the new Payson Pool! And it took going to the Ward swimming party to go! The kids had a blast, I froze, Jed got drenched by a "2 ton" bucket of water spraying over him which he was not prepared for (it was HYSTERICAL!) and the company was fun. We went again with Celeste and crew a few days later! Very fun water park - it's a must-go-to when you come visit - hint!

Nicholas rocks the boat (and car!)

I couldn't help but laugh at this sight. Nicholas had dragged the hose to the side yard and then dragged his boat to the side yard. I thought nothing of it, for a moment. I walked around and saw Nico spraying the well cover and filling his boat with water. He then jumped in and began to rock, singing a song of his own! He wasn't aware of me so I ran into the house to hurry to get the shot. Here is the Kodak moment. :-)
Saturday, July 5th, I invited Nicholas to fill his wading pool in the front yard so I could keep an "eye" on him while I work in the garage. Turned into a bad invitation! He began to wash our Ford 500, which wouldn't have been a big deal had Jed not rolled the windows down! He sprayed the car and then put the hose through the window and filled the dash, seats and floor with about three inches of water! Aahh! We got a wet/dry vac and then let it air dry til Sunday morning. The car ran to church the next day but wouldn't start after church. I said to the family, "Let's throw a mighty prayer!" We did and the car didn't start. Today, however, I said to Jed, "It's too bad if we don't have enough faith to work in our behalf. I believe in miracles and I know that faith precedes the miracle." Jed and I prayed. He then went to the car. He came back and simply said, "Come with me." We went to the car, Jed says to me with a slight smile, "Faith precedes the miracle." The car started right up. I was thrilled and so thankful! We then offered a prayer of gratitude to our loving Father in Heaven for the blessing of our curious boy Nicholas as well as an expense spared.
